HRSP uses your heating baseline to set heat pump rebate amounts. Enbridge natural gas homes get lower air-source caps because the program targets bigger emissions cuts from electric, oil, propane, and wood-heated homes switching off fossil fuels.
| Enbridge gas | Non-gas | |
|---|---|---|
| Air-source heat pump | $500/ton, max $2,000 | $1,250/ton, max $7,500 |
| Ground-source | $3,000 flat | Up to $12,000 |
| Bundled insulation/windows | Same caps as non-gas | Same caps as non-gas |
How to know if you are Enbridge gas
- Check your gas bill. Enbridge Gas Inc. is the utility for most of southern Ontario
- Electric baseboard, oil tank, propane, or wood = non-gas for HRSP heat pump rates
- Not sure? Select "Not sure" in our checker and confirm with your contractor
Gas homes with lower heat pump rebates often do better on the bundled path. Insulation plus windows can reach up to $10,000 combined even on Enbridge service.
