Heat pump rebate Ontario eligibility
- Own an eligible home in Ontario (detached, semi, townhome, row house, mobile on permanent foundation)
- Home occupied at least 6 months
- Equipment on Natural Resources Canada's qualified products list
- Installation by a participating contractor registered with the program
Oil homes: OHPA and the provincial rebate
If you heat with oil, you count as non-gas under the program, so you can claim the standard air-source heat pump rebate (up to $7,500) through a participating contractor. Income-qualified households may instead get a heat pump at little or no cost through the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program — delivered in Ontario by Save on Energy and closing to applications July 31, 2026.
