Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program (HRSP) is the main provincial heat pump rebate in 2026. Amounts depend on whether your home is on Enbridge natural gas — not your income. Use our free checker to see your estimate in seconds.
| Home type | Air-source heat pump | Ground-source |
|---|---|---|
| Enbridge gas | Up to $2,000 ($500/ton) | $3,000 flat |
| Non-gas (electric, oil, propane, wood) | Up to $7,500 ($1,250/ton) | Up to $12,000 |
Heat pump rebate Ontario eligibility
- Own an eligible home in Ontario (detached, semi, townhome, row house, mobile on permanent foundation)
- Home occupied at least 6 months
- Equipment on Natural Resources Canada's qualified products list
- Installation by a participating HRSP contractor
Single-upgrade heat pump installs do not require an EnerGuide audit. See our Enbridge vs non-gas guide if you are unsure which rate applies.
Oil homes: stack OHPA + HRSP
Oil-heated homes may qualify for non-gas HRSP rates plus the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program. See our OHPA Ontario guide for combined amounts up to $17,500+.
Program end date
HRSP is confirmed through November 30, 2026, subject to funding. See our deadline guide for timing and why earlier is safer.
